Shari leads a local chapter of Shimmy Mob each year. The worldwide Shimmy Mob brings together volunteer teams from around the world to dance to the same song on the same day, all while wearing the same style t-shirt and raising awareness about domestic violence prevention and education. One event is held in May each year, and another is held in September. The annual events are open to anyone who wants to join a volunteer team and dance for a cause, and it is a great opportunity for people to get involved and make a difference in their community.
While the choreography each year is beginner-friendly, volunteers can be involved in many other ways as well: passing out flyers, sharing the cause on social media, collecting donations at the event, and much more! Shimmy Mob aims to bring people together to show their support for domestic violence prevention and healing from abuse, and to raise funds for local domestic violence shelters- Shari has designated Waypoint Services to receive donations from her team.
